Ever since our original owners Jim and Suzanne went on their first date on a motorcycle in the summer of 1972, Harley-Davidson® has been a part of their life. Jim has owned over 100 motorcycles throughout the years: building, riding, and enjoying many rides across the United States. In June of 2013, Jim and Suzanne retired from careers in the propane industry and education and together launched into a post-retirement career to own Gunnink's Harley-Davidson®, in Ukiah, CA. They began with journey with their three daughters Katie, Emily, and Annie and son-in-law Leif Magnusen working together to create a place where relationships matter. It is a family business; the whole family is excited to join the Harley-Davidson® family and look forward to many years of living the brand. Ride on!
In January 2021, Jim and Suzanne retired and passed the dealership onto Emily Gunnink and Leif Magnusen to take the reins. Emily and Leif have a very extensive background in the Harley-Davidson world. Back in college, they worked at a dealership for many years in parts, service, and retail. They then married and started a family with their own independent motorcycle shop that was thriving and outgrowing their capacities. In 2013, Emily and Leif closed their independent shop to join forces with Jim and Suzanne in the endeavor to purchase Harley-Davidson of Ukiah and open Gunnink’s Harley-Davidson.
Now, the new owners and operators, Emily Gunnink and Leif Magnusen of Gunnink’s Harley-Davidson, have great plans to keep the same family dealership alive for all. They continue to have family at the helm running all the departments and have future plans for their two young boys Henry and Oliver to join them here at the workshop. They feel all the customers, staff and friends have all grown over the years into what now feels like a large extended family. Emily and Leif honestly believe Gunnink’s Harley-Davidson is Where Relationships Matter.
